Simple Selling on Ebay

Have you ever tried selling anything on ebay? Sometimes it stinks right?

So I thought I'd share some of my tips and tricks with you.

#1: Understand that your probably not going to get exactly or close to what you paid for an item

#2: Decide from the start what the lowest amount of money that you want to make on your item. $0.99? $3.00? $10.00?

#3: Then you have two choices.

1. Start the bidding at the lowest amount you will take, then charge the customer for shipping

2. Take the lowest amount you are willing to make, then add shipping costs to that amount. Start the bidding at that amount, then offer free shipping

#4: I do not ever use the Buy It Now option, as I personally don't like it.

#5: Utilize flat-rate USPS when it is cost effective. For example: If I sell an item for $8, it's not really cost effective to pay $5 for a flat-rate box as I then only make $3.

#6: Use the Create a Shipping Label through ebay as it automatically uploads tracking number, alerts the buyer, and you usually receive a shipping discount.

#7: If an item doesn't sell, be willing to re-list again, possibly at a lower price.

#8: Include as much information (size, style, color, defects) as you can. Be honest about flaws.

#9: Take lots of pictures. This will help entice buyers, as well as protect you in case of a bogus claim.

#10: Keep your half of the shipping label. This will ensure you have the tracking number, as well as a physical copy of proof of shipment.

#11: Understand that sometimes you might get scammed. There are dishonest people out there and it could, and probably will happen to you.

#12: Have fun, experiment with what works best for you and the items you are selling
