Simple Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Hello! This is the first recipe i'm posting to this blog, so bear with me as I figure out the best way to show you my favorite cookie recipe! Located on the Printables page will be a PDF version of the recipe (minus pictures) that you can print out, but don't forget to share with your friends on Pinterest or Facebook!

This cookie recipe makes between 5 and 6 dozen cookies, depending on the size you shape them. I usually use this recipe to take some cookies to church events and still have enough to leave at home for my husband to eat.

Speaking of husband, this recipe has his seal of approval!

So let's start with ingredients:

1 1/4 cups sugar

1 1/4 cups brown sugar

1 1/2 cups butter

2 teaspoons vanilla

3 eggs

2 teaspoons baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

4 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

2 bags chocolate chips (4 cups)

Step 1: Prepare oven by preheating to 375 degrees

Step 2: In a large bowl mix both types of sugar and room temperature or softened butter. Beat with an electric mixer until light and fluffy.

Step 3: Add vanilla and eggs. Mix well.

Step 4: Add baking soda and salt. Mix well.

Step 5: Add flour, one cup at a time and continue to mix.

Step 6: Fold chocolate chips into mixture. *Side Note: I only had one cup of chocolate chips when I took these pictures, so your steps from here on out will look a little different.

Step 7: I use a mini scoop (shown in picture) to measure out dough, but you can use a teaspoon. Place on un-greased baking sheet. I flatten and shape the dough a bit to make the cookies pretty.

Step 8: Bake 8-10 minutes (I normally pull the cookies out at 8 minutes, but it will depend on your oven and elevation).

Step 9: Allow cookies to cool on pan for 1 minute, then move to a cooling rack. If you break the cookie apart immediately it will look like raw dough, allow to cool and it will finish cooking.

Step 10: Eat cookies with a glass of milk!

Let me know if you try the recipe and enjoy it!
